La indie pop duo Mirrorball had been separately releasing music in LA before teaming up.
‘This Time’ was
released on Dangerbird Records in 2019 and, incidentally, was the first song they wrote together. It caught the ear of producer Chris Coady (Grizzly Bear, Beach House), and they entered production on an EP.
"Tinsel for a Tear" is the first of a collection of songs produced and mixed by Coady.
